Classroom.

Knowledge is power. In our classroom portion we go deep into snow theory, how avalanches form, their size and magnitude. What the different snow crystals mean and how they form into avalanche properties or into a stable snowpack. We go into depth on how to travel safely in the backcountry with route planning exercises, group dynamics and rescue scenarios. In this one day classroom course we also give you the tools to properly come up with a safety plan for your backcountry adventures. How to tick all the boxes before taking the next steps in the mountains.

Rescue.

Get to know your gear, and how to use it quickly and efficiently so that you can feel confident going in the backcountry with your friends. With group avalanche scenarios you will learn how to work as a team to maximize your time and exposure during a rescue. You will also get one on one, hands on training on how to do a rescue on your own so that you feel confident on your skills individually. Every scenario is different, but I assure you that after this course you will feel confident with your gear and how to use it!

Science.

Making decisions in the backcountry can be a scary task when you feel that your knowledge doesn’t match your riding skills. With our Avalanche Skills Training we go into depth on snow science and how snow bonds to result in avalanches. With hands on learning we get you in the pit so that you can go with confidence on the peaks. Viewing snow crystals under a magnifying loupe, understanding how stability works, and testing the snow to determine whether you feel comfortable or not in whatever objective you are attempting that day.
